Modern comforts and drivability include custom marine-grade canvas soft tops, touchscreen digital media stereo, air conditioning, back-up camera charging ports, LED lighting, coil spring suspension, four-wheel power disc brakes, and power steering.

Power comes from a replacement rebuilt fuel-injected 3.9L Rover V8 gasoline engine, paired with a ZF 4HP22 4-speed automatic transmission and Rover LT230 dual-range transfer case. A Rover 24-spline constant variable front axle and Salisbury heavy-duty 24-spline rear axle deliver legendary four-wheel-drive capability.

This comprehensively restored and modified 1991 Land Rover Defender 110 is a true tribute to the legacy of classic Land Rovers — seamlessly blending vintage charm, rugged 4x4 capability, and modern enhancements.

Whether you are a serious collector, an enthusiast seeking a show-quality example, or someone who appreciates a trail- or beach-ready icon with photo-documented restoration, this Defender 110 represents a rare opportunity to own a standout piece of British automotive history.

History

Introduced by Land Rover as the 110 in 1984 and renamed the Defender 110 in 1990, the model remained in continuous production for 32 years until 2016 — making it one of the most iconic and collectible Land Rovers ever produced, celebrated for its rugged simplicity and timeless design.

This 1991 Defender 110 L315 was built at the Land Rover factory in Solihull, United Kingdom on April 19, 1991 for the Sultan of Oman’s Armed Forces. After retiring from military service with reportedly only 77,454 kilometers, it was acquired by the current owner in 2023 and relocated to the United Arab Emirates, where it underwent a comprehensive frame-off restoration and modification. As part of the owner’s global private Land Rover collection, the vehicle remained in the United Arab Emirates before being relocated to the United States collection in 2025.

Frame-off restoration photos are available in the gallery. The Defender holds a clean and clear Montana title in the current owner’s Montana LLC and is located in Spring Lake, New Jersey. The replacement odometer reads approximately 636 miles, representing mileage since restoration; true mileage is unknown. There are no known mechanical, electrical, structural, or significant cosmetic deficiencies, consistent with a high-quality restoration.

Exterior

The exterior presents exceptionally well, with impeccable attention to detail as expected from a frame-off restoration. The original aluminum body is finished in ceramic-coated Nara Bronze with aluminum trim. The driver and passenger half doors allow for the removal of the top window sections.
