Classic 4x4 is elated to present this highly original and refurbished 1990 Chevrolet K5 Blazer V1500 Silverado. The Blazer is finished in Midnight Blue Metallic with Dark Blue interior complemented by white and blue houndstooth accents. Power is sourced by an electronic fuel injected V8 gas engine, 4-speed overdrive automatic transmission, and dual-range selectable transfer case with automatic locking hubs. Equipped from the factory in the “top of the line” Silverado trim with the highly optioned Preferred Equipment Group 5. It cruises comfortably with modern amenities, including factory power windows, power door locks, power steering, power brakes with rear ABS, air conditioning, rear tinted with sliding side quarter windows and recently upgraded LED lighting and a digital media stereo. The original factory hardtop, Softopper soft top, original all-weather floor mats and original owner’s manuals are included in the sale.
History
Chevrolet K5 Blazers are synonymous with on-road comfort and off-road capability. The second-generation Chevrolet K5 Blazer was introduced in 1973 and ran through 1991, with multitudes of options and upgrades throughout the years. Though GM coined the body style the “Rounded Line”, enthusiasts have always referred to it as the “Square Body”. When GM introduced the new GMT-400 truck platform in 1987, they changed their 4 wheel drive moniker from “K” to “V”, but since the Blazer retained the prior platform through 1991 enthusiasts continued to refer to them as K5 Blazers.
This Blazer was originally sold new at Mize Motors Chevrolet in Eden, North Carolina. It has been in enthusiast collections since 2005, the current owner acquired it from the Marsh Collection in 2023. While in the current owner’s collection, it was featured in Macy’s Fall 2024 advertising campaign and Nike’s 2025 advertising campaign with UCONN basketball phenom and top WNBA draft pick, Paige Bueckers. The six-digit odometer shows 125,390 miles, of which more than 2,000 miles were added under current ownership. It is located in Asbury Park, New Jersey and offered on a New Jersey title in the current owner's name. The CarFax reports moderate damage from hitting an animal on August 18, 2005 and a “Not Actual Mileage Title” which appears to have been incorrectly reported by a previous owner, as the odometer is six digits and the mileage on the CarFax report is consistent.
Exterior
The body presents itself very well and is finished in the original GM factory color Midnight Blue Metallic. The paint shows nicely with shine and depth. The frame and underside were undercoated in matte black under previous ownership. The body and frame are free of major imperfections or rot. The removable original body color hardtop with upgraded tinted glass and sliding quarter windows and black Softopper soft top also present themselves nicely without major imperfections. Please note that both tops are included in the sale and the hardtop will be installed prior to the new owner taking delivery. The original upgraded 15-inch Rally wheels are wrapped in newer 33 x 12.5 Hankook Dyanpro AT2 tires. The original Mize Motors dealer tailgate sticker is still present. The exterior chrome and stainless trim shines nicely, with minimal pitting or scratches. The glass is in good condition, with the exception of a minor approximately ¼ inch chip noted on the upper driver’s side of the windshield. The driver and passenger front window seals appear to be original and show minor cracking commensurate with their age. For maximum visibility, the low beam headlights, side markers and taillights were converted to LED under current ownership. The low beam headlight conversions were custom built by Headlight Experts using factory correct sealed beam housings. Known cosmetic imperfections, are pictured in the gallery and noted in the CarScore inspection report.

Interior
The refurbished interior presents itself exceptionally well and is finished in the GM Dark Blue interior option. The high back front bucket seats and optional 3 person flip and fold rear bench seat are finished in the upgraded factory Custom Cloth option. The Custom Cloth seats have a plush look, feel similar to velour and are in excellent condition. Under current ownership the interior was refurbished, which included replacing the upper dashboard, brushed metallic trim, carpet, floor mats, seatbelts, stereo, speakers and reupholstering the visors, armrests and tire cover. The visors, rear armrests and tire cover were professionally reupholstered in an automotive grade white and navy blue houndstooth textile. A Pioneer digital media head unit with Bluetooth and hands-free calling and Kenwood speakers were installed. The interior dome light was converted to LED and the lens was replaced. The gauges, interior lighting, power locks and windows, heat, and air-conditioning are all functional. The original GM all weather front and rear floor mats are included in the sale. Known cosmetic imperfections, are pictured in the gallery and noted in the CarScore inspection report.

Mechanical
The Blazer is in excellent running and driving condition, it starts, idles, drives, steers and stops well and as it should. The factory electronic fuel injected LO5 5.7L 350ci V8 engine sends power to the replacement Turbo Hydra-Matic 700-R4 (4L60) 4-speed overdrive automatic transmission. The New Process 241 dual range selectable transfer case drives the front and rear GM Corporate 10 bolt axles, with automatic hubs engaging the front axle. Stopping power is provided by power brakes with front discs and rear ABS drums. Responsive steering is produced by power steering with a recently replaced steering stabilizer. Under current ownership, the radiator, air filter, powertrain fluids and filters, tailgate power window drive cable, shocks and steering stabilizer were replaced. Bilstein 4600 shocks and a Rough Country N3 steering stabilizer were installed. Under previous ownership, the transmission, tie rods, front brake pads, battery, starter, window switch, and oxygen sensor were replaced and the air conditioning was recharged. There are no known mechanical or systems flaws.
